Andrea Buitrago
Executive Director of FCDS Peru
Ecologist and Master in Environmental Management for Sustainable Development, with more than fifteen years of experience in the implementation of programs and projects for conservation and development in Andean, Orinoco and Amazonian landscapes, and comprehensive analysis of the territories with emphasis on the articulation with public policies.
His experience includes field work with rural and indigenous communities, the private sector and state institutions in various regions of Colombia to manage and manage strategic areas for conservation, within the framework of the construction of social, environmental and institutional agreements.
From civil society organizations and international cooperation projects, he has integrated multidisciplinary teams in conservation processes, local development and socio-environmental conflicts. In FCDS she has led regional conservation processes, strategic environmental assessments, ecological connectivity in Colombia and Peru, public-private agreements, social and institutional dialogues and since 2020 she has directed FCDS Peru. She has been a university professor and has published books and technical articles.
