This document seeks to inform about the importance of Indigenous Peoples in Isolation and Initial Contact, PIACI. As well as to alert about the serious threats contained in the bill no. 3518-2022.
This information is organized in 18 issues that should be taken into account to inform us and understand the rights and challenges Peru has to promote the effective improvement of its performance on the situation of the PIACI living in our country. In addition, this information also includes observations on the draft law no. 3518-2022, which aims to alter and weaken the rights as well as the existing institutional mechanisms for the protection of PIACI contained in Law no. 28736; putting at risk the life and various fundamental rights of PIACI.
