The report presents a situational diagnosis on the progress and impact of mining activity in the Amazon regions of Loreto, San Martín, Amazonas, Ucayali, Madre de Dios and the province of Puerto Inca, in Huánuco.
In these regions, mining is one of the growing drivers of deforestation in the Peruvian Amazon, affecting forests, biodiversity, human health and safety, social peace and governance.
The report is based on the compilation, analysis and systematization of information from various sources such as official publications, academic studies, reports, news and reports on informal and illegal mining published at least during the last 5 years.
